Cu o cariera desfasurata fast forward in decurs de un an, Elliphant si-a lansat in 2013 primul album, A Good Idea, material ce include colaborari cu Diplo, Dr. Luke, Niki & The Dove, Erik Hassle si Ras Fraser Jr.

1. Buna Ellie. Ne pare bine sa te cunoastem. Stiu ca esti din Suedia si ca ai calatorit in jurul lumii, in special in India.

Am vrut sa gasesc ceva autentic in personalitatea mea, iar asta m-a facut sa fiu imprastiata.

E placut. Hainele mele ma reprezinta in momentul de fata.

Interview in english

1. Hi, Ellie. Nice to meet you. I know you are from Sweden and you traveled around the world, especially India. Tell me a bit about your experiences on the road. How did they changed you? What did you learn from all the cultures and people you met?

The biggest thing about traveling in a young age alone, is that you leave your identity prison that you didn't know that you have in the city where you grow up. You have to explore the world alone and experiment with your personality a little bit without people who expect the person they expect you to be.

That was the biggest step for me to become who I am today, but its also very easy to overdo it and get lost and get hooked on the traveling thing. So I am glad that I am in this project now that stimulates me with travels but at the same time, I need to be responsible and meet myself every day.

2. At first you were into photography and then you chose music (and that turned out to be a great success). Did you expect such a pozitive reaction from the music industry?

I never chose music before photography, I just ended up in a music project trying to write songs for other artists than myself. It just happened that I in that time invited some friends to stay in my apartment from Australia and they stole my camera, and I didn't have money enough to buy a new one.

But after being angry for a while about it, I realized that it was the perfect thing, because it made me put all that energy and focus into the music thing, and I think it was just time for Elliphant. I wasn't expecting anything, I never expect anything. So I feel very overwhelmed by all this.

3. And, since we got here, what's your message to the world?

Don't be afraid of your emotions; don't be afraid to express yourself. Don't believe in a society that tells you to choose who you are, be proud about being a human that always will question herself and look for more. And it's full of all type of emotions and not only the ones who stand in line, follow rules and accepts a world that wants you to be "normal".

4. I know you've collaborated with Diplo, Dr. Luke, Niki & The Dove, Erik Hassle and Ras Fraser Jr. What other artists do you admire and wold like to do a piece with?

I would love to work with more culture-music. I would like to bring in more native reflections and I hear things here and there that inspires me in Elliphant. But there is no real direction, I just know it will stay wild and free. It will just fluet into the cracks of everything.

5. I love your style (that includes the way you perform and the way you dress). I think it's quite unique - how would you describe it and what inspires you?

I don't really know what inspired me in clothes. Just a couple of years back I was very confused with my clothes. I've jumped around different styles of dressing in my life, I really tried to find something that I felt reflected me, and til' not so long ago that was also who I was as a person even though I don't think many people know that about me.

Ive been looking for something in my personality that was rock hard, doing that ive been very spread. But now im back to where it all began, I like comfortable clothes, big hoodies, and tight pants. I like to feel comfortable and I like to be seen as person and not be seen for a style.

The more I thought about that the less effort I wanted to put in my clothes. I'm just me. I cant remember the last time I thought "ahh, I don't know what to wear today". It's nice. My clothes is just who I am right now.

6. For the last question, I would like to know something about your personality - what are the 5 things that define you, give you pleasure and joy?

Family, friends and a good time together is top priority in my life. To create something out of experiences of life -- weather it's in music, words or in colors it's necessary to clear my head.

I meditate a lot but now In the most traditional way, but I always need that moment with myself in the end of the day where I forget about bullshit things in life -- like if I forgot to stamp out from work or if I will be able to pay that next bill and instead remember that I am an human being on a major rock that has fire inside, floating around in space that we know absolutely nothing about.

Animals and nature is a big interest. It makes me feel happy, I'm longing for them and it. But I haven't been able to live close to nature in my life and get a real close experience and relationship with wild animals. But I believe that I won't be feeling ready to die before I get a chance to get close to that. That is my biggest mission.
