Interviu: Sister Bliss - Faithless
Inaintea concertului de la Bucuresti, Sister Bliss si-a facut timp sa ne raspunda la cateva intrebari. Cititi mai jos despre noul album - The Dance, despre de ce a fost nevoie sa aiba un label propriu sau despre dans. Ne-am bucurat sa aflam ca s-au simtit excelent in Bucuresti si suntem siguri ca acum va fi si mai tare.

How does Buddhism influence your music?
Maxi: It allows me to access whatever wisdom I was born with. It also outlines all of the laws that exist in life – this information I can pass on lyrically.

De ce crezi ca muzica voastra captiveaza atat de mult multimile?
Din fericire pentru ca are un anumit tip de atmosfera si de stare, dar si datorita versurilor extraordinare si vocii melodice a lui Maxi.
Ce ne poti spune despre ultimul vostru album? Care-i povestea din spatele The Dance?
Vroiam sa facem un album nou, mai ales ca multa lume ne simtea lipsa si simteam ca inca e loc pentru noi in muzica electronica. Ne-am terminat contractul cu vechea casa de discuri asa ca eram liberi sa facem ce vrem.
Albumul este considerat o intoarcere spectaculoasa la radacinile “de dans”. Cum s-a intamplat asta?
Personal, imi doresc foarte mult sa facem din nou muzica dance. Am facut foarte mult DJ-ing si astfel am putut lua pulsul noilor materiale in cluburi din nou. Ne-am dat seama ca sunt multe melodii care suna ca Faithless, dar nu atat de bune!
Crezi ca oamenii au nevoie sa se exprime prin dans?
Da! Dansul este ceva primar si intotdeauna o buna metoda de a scapa de stresul de zi cu zi. In lumea dance-ului, exista un puternic simt al comunitatii.
Care e melodia ta preferata de pe album?
Sun to me si North star.
De ce ati decis sa aveti propriul label, Nate's Tunes?
Intelegerea noastra cu Sony BMG s-a terminat si am simtit nevoia, am vrut sa lansam albumul pe cont propriu, in ritmul nostru, fara vreo presiune exterioara. Libertatea este esentiala pentru un artist.
Ce te inspira cand faci muzica?
Totul in viata, de la conversatii pana la stiri - totul este material pentru gandire!
Daca ati putea sa faceti soundtrack-ul pentru un film, care ar fi acela?
Tron ar fi fost excelent dar Daft Punk il fac deja!
Ce ne poti spune despre experienta din Bucuresti, de acum trei ani?
A fost fantastic, am simtit o energie extraordinara si atata dragoste de la fanii nostri romani.
Ai un mesaj pentru ei?
De-abia asteptam sa va revedem cat de curand!

Why do you think your music captures the crowds?
Hopefully because it has an atmosphere and mood to it, as well as great lyrics and Maxi's melodic voice.
What can you tell us about your latest album? What's the story behind The Dance?
We wanted to make a new album as so many people seemed to have missed us so we felt there was still a place for us in electronic music, and we had finished our deal with our old label so we were free to do as we pleased.
Your new album is considered to be a spectacular return to the dance floor roots. Why is that?
I wish in the right head space to make dance music again - I had been djing loads and therefor could test out the new material in the clubs again, and we felt there were a lot of tracks that's sounded like Faithless but nit as good!
Do you think people need to express themselves through dancing?
Yes it is very primal and always is a good release for the stressful lives we lead- there is a great sense of community in the dance world particularly
What is your favorite track on the album?
Sun to me or north star
Why did you decide to have your own label, Nate's Tunes?
Because our deal with sonybmg had come to an end and we felt we wanted to put the record out ourselves in our own time without any external pressure. Freedom is essential for an artist.
What inspires you when making music?
Everything in life- from conversations to just switching on the news- it's all food for thought !
If you had the opportunity to choose a movie for which to do the soundtrack for, which one will it be?
Tron would have been good but Daft Punk are doing it!
What can you tell us about the last experience in Bucharest three years ago?
It was fantastic! We felt a great energy and so much love from our Romanian fans.
Do you have a message for your Romanian fans?
We can't wait to see you very soon!
