David Bowie (pe numele adevarat David Robert Jones, nascut pe 8 ianuarie 1947 in Brixton, Londra) este unul dintre cei mai cunoscuti muzicieni britanici, activ de aproape 50 de ani pe scena muzicala, timp in care s-a reinventat si a inovat fara incetare, fiind o influenta majora (atat muzical, cat si estetic, prin aparitiile sale non conformiste) pentru foarte multi artisti, de-a lungul timpului.
Stilul in care se incadreaza e de obicei caracterizat ca fiind glam rock, dar a avut albume si in stilul blue-eyed soul, new wave, proto-punk, electronic, pop. Spirit artistic complet, nu s-a rezumat doar la muzica, a fost actor de teatru si film (a jucat in Labyrinth, Basquiat, The Man Who Fell To Earth, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Hunger, The Prestige, Zoolander), este pictor si sculptor.
